About QR codes

A QR code is a 2-dimensional black and white matrix of dots such as the one below.  QR codes are used to provide an easy way to get an website address, phone number, or other information into a mobile phone.  The mobile phone must have a camera and software to read QR codes.  (The software is typically free.)  The user simply invokes the QR software (which controls the camera), aims the camera at the QR code, and snaps the photo.  The QR software decodes the code, starts a browser, and jumps to the website indicated within the QR code.
